The link above will take you to a letter. Written by a man who is serving in the Iraq war right now. The author is kept secret and so only a few people know who wrote this letter. Still anyone can read it if they so choose to.
The letter is all about how the war is over there. Well what he can say that isn't classified, which is not much. He lists some top favorites for the year and how hard worked the man is. I suppose the biggest relation it has to Slaughterhouse 5 by Curt Vonnegut is that neither really knew what exactly to write about. Both were at a lost for words, which is a huge surprise from a writter. That is the similarities with many war stories. I assume. No one knows just what to write. Everybody wants to read about herocy and grand adventure. But it just doesn't exist in war. That is mad up fals-truths that just try to justify war.
